Hi all! Well, all the items I received for Knits for Needs for the year are donated!! Thank you all for your time, dedication, and knit and crochet items. This has been a wonderful year.
We gave to the Martha O'Bryan center. Take a look at their comment on the last posting! They thanked us and were very glad to receive all your hand made goodies! Thanks again for giving people warm heads and happy hearts. We also gave to Precious Preemies. They commented on twitter that they were very thankful to get the little tiny assortment of hats; and attached a picture. The ladies for Hope Gardens were thankful to get our little monsters that we sent to them, they say the children look forward to the monsters each year.
I had 49 balls/skeins of yarn left--I have donated that to a local high school that had no yarn to use to teach the students to knit and crochet. What better use than to create more knitters and crocheters?! Their teacher Phillis C. was extremely happy to receive the donation; when she had no yarn she wasn't quite sure what she was going to do.
Thank you so much for your yarn donation, knit items, crochet items, time, dedication, and commitment to Knits for Needs! This has been a great year. I will still continue to collect things all year round, so keep them coming. In the mean time I will be looking for more places in need of handmade knit/crochet items. If any of you have any ideas please don't hesitate to email me at knitsforneeds@gmail.com; I would be glad to hear from you!
Keep the yarn flying,

Delivery!
Hi all! This week I made a trip out to the Martha O'Bryan center to drop off all the knit goodies you guys have been sending in!! On the way there I stopped by the post office and there was a big box of beautiful knit and crochet items from Shirley S. in Colorado! This included 9 hat and matching sock sets, 4 pairs of socks, 4 knit bears, 3 hat and matching sweater sets, 3 sets of froggie slippers (with the no-slip patch sewn on the botton--how cute is that!), and 3 sock hats!!
The total items donated: 71 hats from baby to adult, 8 scarves, 1 pair adult mittens, 1 pair child mittens, 8 washclothes, 6 bears, 1 snowman, 3 froggie slippers, 9 hat/sock sets, and 3 hat/sweater sets.
I sent 6 preemie hats to MamasHealth in California. They collect preemie hats and give them to local hospitals.
Last but not least, I sent 2 monsters to the Hope Garden and Bonnie J. She collects monsters for children at an abused women and children's shelter and gives a little cute monster to each of the kids at Christmas time.
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and your donations!! You are what makes Knits for Needs what it is! I will still continue to collect all year round, so keep sending me your items. I still have a lot of yarn if anyone needs any more. Also, I plan to donate some yarn to a local school that teaches their students to knit in home economics class.
Thanks again for all of your support. Keep up the good work!
